Why Conscious Connected Breathwork?

Conscious Connected Breathwork is an effective and healthy way of releasing stress and tension from the body leaving you feeling much calmer, lighter and clear headed. 

Most of us want to reach our full potential, and in order to succeed it is key that we do the deep inner work to clear out old limiting beliefs, suppressed emotions and energetic blockages that prevent us being and our true and best selves, so that we can experience more vitality and peace. 

This type of breathing activates our sympathetic nervous system which is where any unprocessed emotions and traumas are held. Breathing in this way will allow them to be processed and released out of the body, so that you feel a release and relief.

You may have heard the phrase that 'e-motion is energy in motion'. So if we don’t allow ourselves to express and feel our emotions they become stuck in our bodies which creates tension and anxiety. They are supposed to be moved through us, not stay bottled up!  When we keep our emotions suppressed we become depressed, irritable and anxious. Conscious Connected Breathwork is a brilliant and safe way of letting these stuck emotions go.

Life is so much easier and lighter when we aren’t carrying around that emotional load. We feel clear and free and much more accepting of ourselves. 

 

Hey, I'm Lizzy!

I am an open-minded, open-hearted and experienced facilitator of Conscious Connected Breathwork. I welcome you to come and explore your inner world with me. I will hold you and support you as you show up for yourself on your healing journey. To me this work is sacred, and your safety and wellbeing is my highest priority which is why I trained with Integrative Breath which means I can safely work with trauma and those experiencing deep distress.

I discovered the transformative power of Conscious Connected Breathwork on my own healing journey and have found it to be illuminating and life-changing. Like many of us, I spent much of my life living in survival mode often feeling trapped, overwhelmed and ashamed of not 'being enough'. I've breathed through all of these deep feelings and limiting beliefs that became knotted into my nervous system and psyche and have been able to leave them behind.

That's why I'm so inspired to deliver this powerful and beautiful healing modality. For me it was the missing piece, something that was quite literally under my nose the whole time! We can go to talk therapy all we want, and it can be incredibly beneficial. But ultimately we cannot talk or think our way out of emotions, which are felt in the body and must be processed by accessing them and feeling them in a safe and healthy way. And that's where somatic healing practices such as breathwork come in.

What you need to know about Conscious Connected Breathwork

Altered state of consciousness

This type of breathwork creates altered states of consciousness that allows us to process past experiences and can bring up potentially challenging emotions and insights. This is all part of the process of release.

You are the one who has control over your experience. I will guide you and show you how to modify your breathing technique so you can confidently adjust the intensity of your process should you feel you want to.

Although the experience of CCB can feel strong and intense at times, no harm will come to you. Breathwork is an ancient art and once we learn how to utilise it's power it can have tremendous positive results on our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. 

Expectations

The main process will take place with you settled on a yoga mat with blankets and cushions, lying down. I will be guiding you through the process which will also be supported by carefully chosen music.

If you've experienced other types of breathwork before, or have been exposed to peak breathwork experiences on social media, you may naturally have an idea of how the experience will go. I always encourage participants to release any expectations in terms of how their individual experience should go.

There are no 'shoulds' or correct outcomes. Everyone's experience will differ and you will likely have a different experience each time.

I invite you to remain open to whatever arises and trust that whatever it is you experience is what is right for you in that moment. 

You may feel any emotions bubbling up to the surface ranging from bliss, anger, grief, arousal, wonder, playfulness, deep contentment. All of it belongs and all of it is very welcome! We're conditioned to label emotions as positive or negative when in fact they all belong as part of our human experience. What isn't healthy is keeping them bottled up inside. This is your opportunity to connect with whatever wants to move through you.

There is also so much value to be found the more subtle experiences. There is no wrong way of experiencing CCB. 

Letting Go

Experiences with CCB can be powerful and intense. We don't want to limit the life-changing and powerful effects so it is key that we are willing to surrender. When we surrender we choose to let go of control and our ego and fears so we can allow the experience to unfold and take us where it wants to take us. Letting go of control can feel scary, but when we surrender we open ourselves up to new insights and perspectives. We let go of the blocks that prevent us from experiencing ourselves in new ways. 

Surrender isn't about giving up, it's about trusting. 

Is breathwork suitable for everyone?

The standard Conscious Connected Breathwork technique is safe for most people. However if you have any involvement with any of the following conditions, I can offer a modified technique. Please just make me aware. These conditions are: 

- Schizophrenia 
-Bi-polar disorder, psychosis, or unmanaged PTSD
- Epilepsy Heart conditions & arrhythmia 
- COPD or lung conditions 
- Delicate pregnancy 
- High blood pressure (hypertension) 
- Low blood pressure with fainting history 
- Glaucoma/detached retina Severe osteoparosis
- Recent major surgery
